Privacy policy

What we collect. We don't ask for your name, email or phone. Our savings checker runs in your browser; what you type isn't sent to us or stored. Like most websites, our host and our analytics tool receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), run by Google, to see which pages help people and what we need to fix [SB-S086]. GA4 records the pages you view, how you got to our site, your device and browser type, and your rough location (city, region and country), which Google works out from your IP address [SB-S086, SB-S087]. Google says GA4 doesn't log or store IP addresses [SB-S086]. It doesn't know your name. Google stores this data in its data centres, which are spread across different regions, so it may be held outside Australia [SB-S087]. We also use Google Search Console to see how our pages show up in Google Search.

Opting out. You can install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block or clear cookies in your browser [SB-S090].

What we don't do. We don't sell personal information. We don't use advertising pixels, and we don't sell or share analytics data for ads. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first and give you a way to opt out.

Leaving our site. If you click a link to a partner, they collect your details under their own privacy policy.

Automated decisions. We don't use your personal information to make automated decisions about you. The checker's estimate is worked out on your device.

Access, correction and complaints. We're setting up our inbox, so there's no contact email just yet. Check back soon. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about a privacy concern.
