Sigenergy battery price in Australia (2026)

A 2-module SigenStor (about 18 kWh) costs from $8,067.60 installed, says one installer, as at 3 November 2026 [SB-S092, C].

That's after the federal discount, with GST, for a standard install. Bigger systems run to about $22,000–$24,000 [SB-S092, SB-S093, C].

Sigenergy doesn't publish a retail price. So we show installers' own lists, each with the date the installer gives.

We haven't installed or used these batteries ourselves. This page is research from government pages, manufacturer documents and installer price lists, each linked and dated.

Installed prices, after the federal discount

SizeSunbridge Energy (Syd, Melb, Bris, Gold Coast), as at 3 Nov 2026 [SB-S092]Positive Energy (Perth), as at 22 Oct 2026 [SB-S093]
1 module (~9 kWh)not offered$5,990
2 modules (~18 kWh)from $8,067.60$10,490
3 modules (~27 kWh)from $11,721.50$13,190
4 modules (~36 kWh)from $14,508.50$16,690
5 modules (~45 kWh)from $17,406.50$20,390
6 modules (~54 kWh)from $22,440.20 (three phase)$24,290
  • Both lists include GST and a standard install (C).
  • Sunbridge's "from" price is its cheapest controller and phase for that size (C).
  • The Perth prices also take off the WA rebate, so they're not like-for-like with the east coast (C, SB-S093; SB-S008).
  • A Sydney installer, Solar National, lists 16 kWh from $7,980, as at July 2026 [SB-S094, C]. Its sizes don't match whole modules, so we've left it out of the table (MISSING: its module setup).

Price per usable kWh (E): price ÷ (modules × 8.76 kWh usable [SB-S060]). Sunbridge: ~$460 (2 modules), ~$446 (3), ~$414 (4), ~$397 (5), ~$427 (6). Bigger is cheaper per kWh, until you need three phase.

What costs extra

ExtraSunbridge, as at 3 Nov 2026 [SB-S092, C]
Partial backup (blackout cover)+$1,455.90 single phase, +$1,681.40 three phase
Whole-house backup+$1,981.40 (three phase only)
Garage install+$500
Switchboard upgrade, if neededup to $1,500
Cable over 5 m$30 a metre

No blackout cover comes standard. If you want it, add the backup price to the table above.

Installing in 2027? It'll likely cost more

The federal discount steps down on 1 January 2027. It doesn't end [SB-S036, SB-S083, C].

Your install date sets the discount, not the day you sign [SB-S004, C].

Usable kWhCertificates (Dec 2026)Certificates (Jan 2027)Discount lost (E)
17.52 (2 modules)10991~$714
26.28 (3 modules)145121~$952

Working (E): 6.8 then 5.7 certificates per usable kWh; full rate to 14 kWh, 60% from 14 to 28 kWh [SB-S036, SB-S001]. 2 modules in Dec: 14×6.8 + 3.52×6.8×0.6 = 109. Each certificate last traded at $39.65 on 30 October 2026 [SB-S095]. Installers pass on a bit less.

Don't rush a bad install to beat it. The regulator warns against that [SB-S004, C].

Will it pay for itself?

Do this sum with your own bill (E):

  1. Yearly saving ≈ kWh the battery covers each evening × 365 × (your peak rate − your feed-in rate).
  2. Payback years = what you pay (table above, plus extras) ÷ yearly saving.
  3. Check it against the warranty: 10 years, or until each module has put through 33.29 MWh, at 70% of its usable energy [SB-S059, C]. If payback is longer than 10 years, the battery may be weaker before it pays off (E).

Example only, use your own bill (E, one worked case; Perth because the price and tariff match):

  • Price: 2 modules, Positive Energy Perth, $10,490 as at 22 Oct 2026 [SB-S093, C].
  • Tariff: Synergy Home Plan A1, 33.2621c per kWh, from 1 July 2026 [SB-S096, C]. Solar you'd otherwise export earns 2c per kWh outside 3pm–9pm [SB-S097, C].
  • Assumption (ours, not a source): the battery stores 10 kWh of midday solar and you use it at night, every day.
  • Saving: 10 × 365 × ($0.3326 − $0.02) = ~$1,141 a year (E).
  • Payback: $10,490 ÷ $1,141 = ~9.2 years (E).
  • What this ignores: charging losses (Sigenergy round-trip efficiency MISSING), cloudy days, and any VPP payments. Real payback is likely longer than this (E).

Your rate and use will differ. Compare plans on Energy Made Easy or Victorian Energy Compare [SB-S048, SB-S049].

By law, a seller must give you payback, sizing and warranty details before you sign [SB-S082, C].

Who it's not for

  • No solar panels? No federal discount. The battery must go in with solar [SB-S003, C]. See battery without solar.
  • Renting? You'd need the owner on board, and the battery stays with the house [SB-S003, C]. Only 3% of renters have a battery, against 11% of owners [SB-S077, C].
  • Low evening use? The smallest Sunbridge size is 2 modules [SB-S092, C]. If you can't fill ~17.5 kWh most nights, you're paying for storage you won't use (E). One Perth installer does sell 1 module [SB-S093, C].
  • Want blackout cover cheaply? Backup is an extra $1,456–$1,981 here [SB-S092, C].

Downsides

  • "18 kWh" is the label, not what you use. Each module gives 8.76 kWh usable on Sigenergy's datasheet [SB-S060, C]. The warranty starts from 9.0 kWh [SB-S059, C].
  • Backup costs extra (above).
  • The approved list names whole systems, not modules [SB-S069, C]. Ask for the exact Clean Energy Council system name on your quote, then check it on the CEC list. MISSING: which listed system matches each installer package.
  • Warranty fades: 70% at 10 years or the throughput cap, whichever comes first [SB-S059, C]. MISSING: we read Sigenergy's warranty via a search extract only.

What you get

A stack: a controller (the inverter) on top, battery modules below. Up to 6 modules per controller [SB-S042, C]. Add-ons include the backup gateway and a DC EV charger [SB-S042, C].

FAQ

Do these prices include the rebate? Yes, the federal one. The Perth list also includes the WA rebate [SB-S092, SB-S093, C].

Will it cost more next year? Likely. Fewer certificates from 1 January 2027 means about $714 less discount on 2 modules (E, above).

Can I add a state rebate? In WA, yes. In NSW, a VPP payment. See battery rebate rules [SB-S007, SB-S008, C].

Rules checked 3 November 2026. Next scheduled check: before 1 January 2027 (STC step-down), and monthly for WA and NSW.
